Spiritual and psychic development – the essentials
The first and most important thing to say is that everyone is a spiritual being – we are pure light beings experiencing and learning about what it is to be a human on the planet earth. As we are all spiritual beings, we are all psychic and we are all born psychic. There are no exceptions. It’s just that some of us come into the world with more of an awareness of that than others. But anyone, and that means you with practice and focus, can develop their spiritual awareness and therefore their psychic abilities.
Remembering dance moves and dancing to release memory
I have recently returned from a festival called Majma – a weekend fest of every type of belly dancing (and a bit more besides) in the vibrant energy of Glastonbury. It’s a great way to introduce yourself to many different styles of traditional dance, and you’ll get to see the best teachers in the world show you how it’s done! I can’t believe we have finally reached the long-awaited 2012, and I look forward to the new order and hope that this year promises, where the spiritual values of love, compassion and unity are at the heart of all life on this planet.

It also means that there are strong spiritual energies at work in all our lives and so at times it may feel as if things are out of our control.

I’d already had the idea of writing about giving as it seems very appropriate for the time of year and then to confirm this was right, as often happens with me, I was told of an interesting comment someone had made: “I’m not giving any money away for nothing as it only leads to resentment.” What makes someone feel this way? It’s an interesting viewpoint and it’s obviously the result of real life experiences. But it made me wonder how this same person would respond to a gift of money, because it’s true that the best givers are also those who are best at receiving.

I love that poem by Marianne Williamson that begins “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.”
But what does that mean? How can we be afraid of our own strength and why would we avoid it? Our strengths can often be hidden in our weaknesses, covered over and cleverly disguised by past hurts and fears of being hurt again in the future.
