A farewell to my father
It’s strange and wonderful the way the universe works; sometimes with a jet black comic sense that has me gasping. The ability to hold all things lightly and see the funny side is a definite divine quality, and a healing one, in my experience.
So it was that just as I’d applied to be a volunteer healer at a local hospice, my own Dad began his outward journey from the physical plane. It’s as if it was necessary for me to undergo this deeply personal initiation before I could begin to walk alongside others through their experience.

Ask Me, freedom from coercive control
For the last couple of days I’ve been on a pilot training course to become one of the first Ask Me Ambassadors, whose role is to raise awareness and understanding of domestic abuse within my community and to act as a signpost to practical, professional support for those within it who are seeking help.
It’s a subject that is very dear to my heart, having experienced coercive control which involved psychological and emotional abuse within a relationship myself.

Healing occurs in layers, and there’s always more to do. Even if you intend that you go straight to the root cause to clear something, which I always do these days, it may still take a while to filter that healing completely through all your bodies – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.
Crafting ripples on the water
I read a wonderful article recently about the different ways we can respond to the need for change we see around us in the world, and how each approach is just as valuable and indeed essential (you can read Sharon Blackie’s article here: Resistance: the Mythos and the Logos). As energy and lightworkers, which is what we are as soon as we are conscious of our spiritual self, we can do so much as individuals at a time when it’s all too easy to feel powerless.
