This chakra is situated in the centre of the forehead, just above eye level, and is often referred to as the third eye. Here is where your intuition, insight and psychic perception sits, allowing you to see beyond the physical world and transcend space and time. Clairvoyants and psychics all have a highly developed brow chakra. In a way, this is not dissimilar to ordinary seeing since it has been scientifically proved that it is not really our eyes that see, but our minds. The eyes are merely focal lenses that transcribe the information they receive into electrical impulses which are sent to the brain – the brain then has to interpret that information.

Community arts – the importance of creating together

I was at the fantastic Mid Wales Shakespeare Centre over the weekend for the Family Shakespeare Festival, in my other guise as theatre administrator and actress (as well as leading an ancestral healing workshop). It was a fantastic and much-needed celebration of creativity and communication through performing arts as it came hot on the heels of a devastating announcement that mid Wales has lost three of its arts centres – Wyeside in Builth Wells, CARAD in Rhayader and Theatr Powys in Llandrindod Wells – due to Arts Council funding cuts.

Maintaining a healthy throat chakra

This chakra is situated in the area of the neck and shoulders, and controls the thyroid and parathyroid glands. Not surprisingly for the location of the voice box, the throat chakra relates to communciation through sound, vibration, self-expression and creativity. As with the heart, we’re moving further away from the physical now. because communication allows us to transcend the ordinary limitations of the body and to make connections with others.

The Mayan calendar

Yesterday I attended an excellent workshop by my friend and mine of information Nick Marchmont (see his details at the end of this post) on the Mayan culture and their calendar.

It was actually the second time I’d attended as I’d been a guinea pig for the first workshop, but it was more than worth a second hearing. The calendar is an amazingly complex and detailed journey through the year, giving anyone who chooses to use it a useful structure for any kind of project and indeed life management.
