Spiritual guidance August/September 2023 from the Tarot
We move into the realms of the heart and emotions this month with the beautiful Six of Cups. The number six is always about harmony and balance, and here it speaks about the giving and receiving of love, joy and a fulfilling delight in life. So for the next four weeks you will certainly be wise to become very aware of what brings you joy, what makes your body feel vibrantly alive and your soul sing, and do more of that.
Dream work; a poem
This poem plays on the idea of dream work as a vocational profession, and the fact that as souls unlimited by time and space we also carry out real and valuable work in dreamtime – literal dream work. For me, both dreams turned out also to be prophetic. The first told me about my calling to spirit release and the second to being a way-shower, empowering others in navigating challenges and creating a more beautiful life and world for themselves and others.

The element of earth is still very much uppermost this month as the Tarot moves us upwards through the suit to work with the Five of Disks, subtitled Worry. There’s no avoiding it, there are going to be disturbances over the next four weeks in those areas on which you usually depend for your sense of security and stability.
Ariadne’s thread: Negotiating life’s labyrinth
I’ve loved Greek myth from childhood, but as I’ve embedded myself more in the landscape of my chosen homeland Wales, Celtic myth has taken first place in my heart. Recently, however, the story of Ariadne’s thread began clamouring for my attention. I’d been drawn to the novel about her by Jennifer Saint when it was first published, and just didn’t get round to it. So when I spotted it in my local phone box library I picked it up eagerly, aware that it had found me at the perfect time.
