Reclaiming the sacred feminine

Posted on Feb 12, 2013 in Healing, Spiritual living

Sacred FeminineFor a long time now I have been particularly drawn to the idea and expression of the sacred feminine. I don’t think this is just because I’m a woman; I believe men have equal access to this aspect of themselves as women do to their sacred masculine. But I know that part of the reason for me being here now as a woman is to demonstrate and encourage sacred femininity in action.

I think it started (as did my in depth spiritual journey if you’ve seen my About page) with reading Women Who Run With the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes.

The Higher Self and the soul

Posted on Apr 18, 2012 in Healing, Spiritual living

You are eternally and unchangeably a divine spark of Spirit and part of All That Is. When you choose (and you do choose!) to come to earth as a human being, your Spirit, which is always pure and perfect, cannot lower its vibration enough to experience the dense and negative energies of this physical realm. So part of your Spirit remains within and  connected to All That Is while another part of you enters your body as the soul.

Aura and energy protection

Posted on Apr 12, 2012 in Healing, Spiritual living

I often get calls from clients who are worried about coming into contact with negative energy, and want to know how to protect themselves. This is the simplest and most effective exercise I know (isn’t simple always the best?!) to do just that, and you can do it anywhere at any time. I also give this exercise as after-care to anyone who comes for healing as it supports the healing process and maintains the integrity of the energy system while that healing is taking place.

Remembering dance moves and dancing to release memory

Ava Fleming

The lovely and talented Ava Fleming

I have recently returned from a festival called Majma – a weekend fest of every type of belly dancing (and a bit more besides) in the vibrant energy of Glastonbury. It’s a great way to introduce yourself to many different styles of traditional dance, and you’ll get to see the best teachers in the world show you how it’s done! If you want to see some photos of the event you can take a peek here:

I learned a lot from each of my workshop sessions, not least that I should practice more, but the constant theme was the way the teachers guided us through the choreography we were learning.

Overcoming fear and finding your strength

Posted on Nov 3, 2011 in Healing, Spiritual living

Your personal lizard of fear

I love that poem by Marianne Williamson that begins “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.”

But what does that mean? How can we be afraid of our own strength and why would we avoid it? Our strengths can often be hidden in our weaknesses, covered over and cleverly disguised by past hurts and fears of being hurt again in the future.
