Continuing my journey through the spiritual development meaning of Tarot cards, specifically the major arcana of the Thoth deck, we reach number 21…..
The Universe Tarot card
The process begun in The Aeon has now reached its fruition. You have peeled off every layer of conditioning, illusion, and soul wounding, karma has been or is being burnt off, and all that remains is your original nature. Your soul is free and you are one with the universe, having realigned with your authentic blueprint.
You have learned and mastered the lessons of all the elements and directions. Your mind is clear and focused, feelings flow freely without overwhelming you, emotions inspire you to passionate creativity and self-expression, your body manifests health and strength. There is nothing left to fear, nothing left to transform. All is well and just as it should be, and you can joyfully embrace your unique place in the great order. Now you simply feel what is right for your soul and you do it, without question, without effort. You know that you’re putting into life and the human experience enough to receive from it all that you need.
It’s a lovely idea to create a meaningful representation of your spiritual journey and all that has brought you to where you are. Use whatever medium comes most naturally to you; perhaps sewing a cloak or robe, painting or drawing a mandala or picture, fashioning a symbolic piece of jewellery, choreographing a dance, writing a piece of music, song or poem. Hang your work or a photograph of it in a prominent place within your sacred space.
As wonderful as this is, it’s important to understand that you haven’t reached the final goal, but merely the beginning of a new cycle. Celebrate and recognise your great achievement, but don’t rest too long on your laurels. The spiral continues and The Fool is beckoning you once more into further adventures. When someone reaches the Universe, I believe that they contribute greatly to the healing and evolution of the whole. Any soul that liberates itself is enabling liberation for those who come after them. Doorways to new and unimagined realities are opened and they and others can then journey out on the spiral to another dimension, and yet another. And so it goes on.
Like Viola at the end of the film Shakespeare in Love, you’ve overcome all obstacles and trials to achieve spiritual independence, and have reached a completion but also arrived at “a new life beginning on a stranger shore”. What unique contribution can you offer to the world? What will you create now? Where in the universe do you want to go next?!
